Hey everyone!
I've been here in London for a few days now, and it's great! We've done so much already. Of course we've hit the big spots: Westminster Abbey (we actually went to church there on Sunday), Big Ben, Hyde Park, Portabello Market, Camden Town Market, the Russian Winter Festival in Trafalgar Square, Harrod's, Platform 9 3/4 for all those Harry Potter fans, and much more that I'm probably forgetting!
We are trying to schedule our trips first. Some of the hot spots we hope to hit are France (Paris), Italy (Venice, Rome, Florence), Ireland for St. Patrick's Day, Wales, Scotland, and Spain...depending on how much money we have. We have to talk to the travel agency first.
I want everyone to post comments and questions and stay in touch with me! I have a good amount of spare time during the week, so I'll be checking and posting quite a bit.

The Russian Winter Festival
This was held in Trafalgar Square. Thousands of people watching the stage where Russians sang and danced. Food stands were everywhere and I tried some interesting stuff!
Portobello Market
This is an upscale market full of fresh foods like pastries, fruits, and veggies. It also has clothing, souvenirs, antiques, and other trinkets. Many celebrities roam these streets according to a local we talked to; apparently it's a very posh section of London.

These were the new guards coming in. They were preceded by a marching band and horses. They held rifles, which gives them control the cops (called "bobbys" here) don't even have. Cops only carry knightstick type things and aren't allowed to have guns.

OMG i am sooooo excited for you. you have barely been there a week and look at all you have done. One day you have to go back with me and show me all the cool places you have seen. Soak up every minute of it and know i am so very proud of you! as for me i miss you like crazy and i find myself always saying "i wonder what awesome things my BFF is doin right now so far away from me." we talk about you all the time and miss you already so very much. luv ya, luv ya, luv ya! and p.s. i love that you started this blog thing to keep us updated!
